TREE PLANTATION

Maharaja Aggarsain Adarsh Public School, Du-block, Pitampura, recently organised a tree plantation programme. The students of Classes 3 to 9 participat­ed in that event. Children had brought saplings from their homes and a concern for the environmen­t was visible on their faces. They were enthusiast­ic and enjoyed the plantation process. Principal Harsh Arya and chairman Jai Narain Gupta also planted saplings. Arya encouraged the students with some motivating words. Appreciati­ng the efforts of the staff and students, she said, “Trees are essential for life and without trees we cannot exist on this beautiful planet. Owing to the unpreceden­ted cutting of trees, ecological balance has been disturbed. We should take pledge to plant at least four saplings a year.” The chairman blessed the students and said protection of the environmen­t is the need of the hour and such activities will bring everyone close to nature. Daisy Dales Sr Sec School, East of Kailash, recently took part in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and organised several activities on the directions of the department of education. A school team named ‘Keep the school clean’ started a cleanlines­s mission inside and outside school premises. Cleanlines­s messages were posted on the gate and in the assembly area. The team inspected sanitary facilities in each and every corner. Members of the school’s eco club conducted a plantation drive, poster making and essay writing competitio­n, and green school drive. Students learnt the importance of blue and green colour dustbins and proper method of washing hands before eating. An audio-visual show was also presented.
