Smart card for CNG consumers in Delhi, Noida, Gzb

NEW DELHI : Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan launched ‘prepaid smart card’ for CNG consumers on Wednesday, which can be used at all gas stations in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.

This is the first time that a prepaid card programme is being started in the gas distributi­on sector in the country.

Speaking at launch, the minister said the initiative is part of the Digital India Campaign envisaged by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take the country forward with the help of technology.

“The ministry is making every effort to use technology and methods to provide time saving and easily accessible customer service to consumers. The government is firm in its commitment to provide clean CNG and PNG for cooking and transport at customer’s convenienc­e to promote Gas Based Economy,” Pradhan said. The minister distribute­d smart cards to some of the fleet as well as retail customers of IGL.
