TWIN SUICIDE? Woman’s husband claims she had an affair with man found dead with her
NEWDELHI: The woman found dead along with a man in a Rajouri Garden hotel room on Saturday was a nurse and her husband claimed she was having an affair with the deceased man.
It was also learnt that the duo lied to the hotel staff that they were married.
The woman, a native of Kerala, was married to a relative of the man, K Suresh, and has a fouryear-old son. Suresh, however, was unmarried and had reportedly told his family in Kerala that he was going to Rajasthan.
According to police, K Suresh was staying at their house in Uttam Nagar where the woman’s husband allegedly found them in a compromising position in the early hours of October 20 and asked them to leave the house.
This was reportedly the same day they checked into the hotel and are suspected to have ended their lives, said DCP (West) Vijay Kumar.
However, Suresh and the woman had left their respective homes in Kerala’s Alleppey and Uttam Nagar here in completely contrasting set of circumstances on Diwali night, relatives said.
While a “visibly happy Suresh” had celebrated Diwali with his family before leaving for Rajasthan via Delhi, the woman had a fight with her husband and was thrown out, said family members.
The two then checked into Aman Deluxe hotel in Rajouri Garden the next morning where both were found dead with their mouths and noses taped and it is suspected that asphyxiation led to the deaths.
Police have ruled out foul play saying the door was found latched from the inside.

cide note, written in Malyalam, was recovered in which the man said they did not wish to live anymore.
Suresh’s family, however, said he had never appeared upset before the incident, nor he had ever expressed that there was anything bothering him.
“If anything, he was excited about joining a new job. He was working in Rajasthan in a solar power company and had recently received a job offer from another company which was giving him a position at a site in Tamil Nadu. Since this was close to home, he was in a rush to join after resigning from his current company. He often talked about the new job,” Suresh’s maternal uncle Putappan told Hindustan Times over the phone from Kerala on Sunday evening.
Suresh’s father had left for Delhi by then, he added.
Putappan recounted how even the day before the 29-year-old man left home, he appeared to be happy and had celebrated Diwali with his family.
About the woman, Putappan said they knew that she was a relative, but no one in the family knew anything about an affair between the two, an allegation her husband has made to police.
Hindustan Times also visited the hotel where their bodies were found. A staff member said they had checked in around 8.30am on October 21.
“He produced his Aadhaar card as an identity proof and claimed the woman was his wife, also offering to show pictures of them together to back his claim. We did not ask much and booked a room for them. They went in and breakfast was served to them. They never came out, nor did they have any visitor during the stay,” said the staff member.
He added that when they did not order a meal over a day and knocks as well as calls made to the room’s intercom went unanswered, the hotel management approached police.
A police officer added that after the duplicate key also failed to open the room which was latched, they had to break open the room in which they found the two with transparent plastic tapes wound around their faces.
