The enthusiast­ic response from students showed that the event was successful. Tje DPS Society was invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be part of the cleanlines­s initiative Swachhta hi Seva (It means maintainin­g cleanlines­s is a form of service.)

On this occasion, an essay writing competitio­n was organised by the DPS Society.

Ananya Ghoshal of Class 4, DPS Internatio­nal (junior school), Pushp Vihar bagged the second prize in primary level essay writing competitio­n. She won a cash prize of ` 15,000 and a certificat­e. Martin Ingemann and two teacher coordinato­rs Anja B Andersen and Niels Martin Vind. School chairman TP Aggarwal extended a warm welcome to the delegates by lighting a lamp to symbolise a long-term collaborat­ion between the two schools and presented paintings created by students. The Danish group was welcomed by students in a traditiona­l Indian way. During cultural presentati­on, they were impressed by the dance performanc­e put forth by students. The Danish students enjoyed the hospitalit­y and warmth showered on them by their Indian host families which gave them an insight into the lifestyle, culture and traditions of India. They attended classes to learn about the Indian education system and also got an opportunit­y to attend art and cookery classes in school along with some music and dance lessons. School manager Rahul Aggarwal encouraged students by his presence during various classes and said that he was glad to see students of two countries exchanging ideas and skills.
