CRICKET-RELATED EVENTS

-

The students of Bhatnagar International School, Paschim Vihar, took part in a cricket tournament and related activities under the British Council International School Award Activity. The exuberant students of Class 6, 7 and 8 demonstrated their passion for the game. The love for the game illuminated the faces of all. The excitement that spectators experienced was clearly visible to one and all. In fact, the spirit of cricket set them above all. The magical experience brought out leadership, team building, analytical and pressure handling in the students. The music and dance lifted them. The learning experience started with setting up the ground, understanding the pitch, the timings and the level. They deciphered cricket jargon like midwicket, straight drive, no balls, lbw and many others. They had a hands-on experience during the practice sessions. Pupils watched films and prepared reports about the origin and evolution of cricket, right from the stadiums of England to our streets. They discussed famous cricket personalities, grasped and reasoned on the strategies made and changed as per the situation. The game was played among all the sections of Class 6, 7 and 8. Learning through the game has sown the seeds of aspiring sportsmen who could bring laurels in future. It has also empowered the young learners with leadership and communication skills, strategic planning and collaborative skills. The winning teams were recognised for their efforts.
