THE VICTIM SAID THE COP CALLED HER ON THE PRETEXT OF SHOWING HER A HOUSE, AND THEN TOOK HER TO HIS FRIEND’S HOUSE WHERE THEY RAPED HER

NEWDELHI: A 32-year-old woman alleged that she was gang-raped by a Delhi Police assistant subinspector and a property dealer in Nangloi two days ago.

Both the accused have been arrested, police said.

Assistant sub-inspector Jaidev Hooda has been dismissed from the force with immediate effect, said Delhi Police chief spokesperson Dependra Pathak.

Pathak said the other accused has been identified as Hooda’s friend Dilbag Dahiya.

The complainant woman is a resident of Nihal Vihar.

In her complaint, the woman said she had got in touch with Dahiya because she was looking for a house on rent.

She alleged that Dahiya called her on the pretext of showing her a house, and then took her to Hooda’s flat where they took turns to rape her.

“On Tuesday afternoon, Dahiya called her to see the house. When she reached there, he convinced her to come to another house which was later found to be Hooda’s. There Dahiya first raped her and then left the house. Hooda entered next and Dahiya locked them from outside after which the police officer allegedly forced himself upon the victim,” said an investigator.

The woman further said that before letting her go, Hooda threatened her that he would frame her in a false case if she revealed her ordeal to anyone. Upon reaching home, t he woman told her husband and they decided to approach the police.

“Based on her statement and a medical examination, a case was registered against the two men and t hey were both arrested on Wednesday. The woman also recorded her statement before a magistrate while the two men were sent to judicial custody,” said Pathak.

Pathak added that the police would swiftly complete the probe in the matter.
