Wife, in-laws booked for trader’s death in Gurgaon

GURGAON: Gurgaon police have registered a case of murder agianst the wife, sister and in-laws of businessma­n Hitesh Saini, 32, who fell to his death from a 10th floor apartment of Uniworld Gardens on Monday.

The murder case was registered on Tuesday after Saini’s sister told police that they suspected foul play in the trader’s death, which she claimed could have been staged to grab a property that he owned in Delhi.

Based on the complaint, the police said that a case of murder has been registered against the against wife of the businessma­n Yasha Saini, her sister Esha Sharma, his father-in-law Krishan Sharma and mother-in-law Krishna Devi Sharma.

“The sister of the deceased complained that this could be a case of murder and we have registered a case. The matter is being probed”, said Vijay Kumar, SHO, Sadar police station.

The postmortem of t he deceased was conducted on Wednesday and the samples were sent for chemical analysis.

Dr Deepak Mathur, who conducted the postmortem, told HT that initial probe has revealed that the deceased suffered multiple fractures and internal bleeding, which led to his death.

“The postmortem revealed that the victim was heavily drunk as a large amount of liquor was found in his stomach. His samples have been sent for chemical analysis which will reveal the exact amount of alcohol and whether he had consumed any other substance that could have led to his death,” said Mathur.

In her complaint to the police, Vani Chowdhary, sister of Hitesh Saini, has alleged that the trader could have been murdered for a large bungalow in Sainik Farms, Delhi, which his wife and in-laws wanted to sell.

She alleged that one of the accused, Krishan Sharma, had even managed to sell a part of the plot using fake documents but the deal fell through and Sharma, who had taken large sum of money as advance had to return the money. “He was under great pressure to arrange the money and this could have led to the killing,” she has alleged.

Apart from that Vani has further alleged that Yasha Saini had forced her husband to leave the house in Delhi and live in a rented accommodat­ion at Uniworld Garden on Sohna road. The couple, who have a 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son, had shifted to Uniworld Garden in December.

Police, meanwhile, said that both Yasha Saini and her father had told them that the trader was not on good terms with her sister.
