Shakib, Mustafizur among eight from Bangladesh for IPL auctions

PONTING DD COACH
Ricky Ponting has joined Delhi Daredevils as their head coach. Ponting was earlier associated with Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians.
Ponting will replace Rahul Dravid as Delhi’s chief mentor. Dravid, who is the coach of the Indian under-19 team, had withdrawn due to conflict of interest. NEW DELHI: Shakib-al-hasan will be one of the eight Bangladesh cricketers up for grabs in the upcoming IPL auctions scheduled on January 27 and 28.
The Bangladesh Test skipper, a former world No 1 all-rounder, was released by KKR on Thursday as they retained only Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. KKR also parted ways with skipper Gautam Gambhir.
Shakib had played just one match for KKR last season. The left-arm spinner and middle-order bat has played six seasons for KKR and will remain a hot buy in this year’s auctions.
Sunrisers Hyderabad also released left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman and he will also be among the eight players who will be available from Bangladesh for the auctions.
Apart from Shakib and Musta- fizur, others players available for IPL teams are Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, Mehedi Hasan, Liton Das, Sabbir Rahman And Abul Hasan. They have all obtained no objection certificates from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
