Kejriwal writes to LG on vacancies in hospitals under Delhi government
NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday questioned L-G Anil Baijal’s alleged rationale behind “hiring only retired officials” to fill up vacant posts in the Delhi government hospitals.
“I was told that the L-G has given approval to fill up these posts only with retired people. I fail to understand the logic behind this decision,” the chief minister wrote in a letter to the L-G.
While repeated calls and text messages to the spokespersons in L-G’S office went unanswered, sources said that the plan to hire retired government officials was to fill posts in paramedics, nursing and administrative sections of hospitals.
The CM blamed the criteria for the tepid response, saying only 327 applications were received for filling up 2,169 posts of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and pharmacists. “This is because so many retired personnel are not available to fill up these posts?” he said, adding that not a single appointment has been made.
