WOMAN FOUND MURDERED IN GREATER NOIDA, HUSBAND HELD

GREATER NOIDA: The body of a 25-year-old woman, allegedly murdered by her husband, was found in Alpha 2 Sector of Greater Noida on Wednesday evening, police said.

According to the police, Rachna Sisodia (25) was found murdered in her house at 7.30pm. Her husband Kuldeep (27) was found absconding at that moment.

“We received a call regarding a murder in Alpha 2 Sector. After reaching the spot, we discovered that the body’s head has been split open with a sharp weapon. We immediatel­y sent the body for post-mortem,” said Brajesh Verma, station house officer, Kasna police station.

Police arrested her husband from Kasna area of Greater Noida by 9pm.

Sisodia used to work as an engineer in Wipro company in Greater Noida and she had been married to Kuldeep for the past two years. Her husband was unemployed and according to neighbours, the couple used to often fight.

The family members of Sisodia have lodged a complaint against Kuldeep. “As per as the victim’s kin, the couple was having a troubled marriage. We are treating Kuldeep as prime accused,” said Anit Kumar, circle officer 3.

“He has been caught from Kasna area and we have not lodged a First Informatio­n Report against him yet. Investigat­ion is going on in this case,” said Verma.

Three projects that would decongest traffic choke points in south Delhi are going to be finalised by L-G Anil Baijal on Thursday, confirmed a government official.

The following proposals would be put up for approval in the governing body meeting of the Unified Traffic and Transporta­tion Infrastruc­ture (Planning and Engineerin­g) Centre (UTTIPEC). Baijal is the chairperso­n of centre.

AUROBINDO MARG

The proposal to improve Aurobindo Marg intersecti­ons — Aurobindo Chowk, Adchini T-point and Andheria Mor — will be one of the proposals. Once approved, agencies will make improvemen­ts in the geometry of these intersecti­ons. For example, at Andheria Mor, pedestrian crossing facilities will be built, the left slip-road to Mehrauli-mahipalpur road will be realigned and the junction mouth would be reduced. At Aurobindo crossing, the divider at Safdarjung road would be extended and the one on Aurobindo Marg would be reduced.

MAHIPALPUR-AIRPORT

According to the agenda note issued by UTTIPEC, the plan to ease out vehicular traffic moving from Vasant Kunj side to the Indira Gandhi Internatio­nal Airport (IGIA) will also be tabled for approval in the meeting. The proposal has been languishin­g for over two years because of bureaucrat­ic hurdles. It was first with the Public Works Department (PWD) which was not able to expedite the proposal due to “land and design related issues.”
