ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

Shivani Vidya Niketan, Chattarpur, celebrated its annual sports day with a lot of enthusiasm.

Students competed in a variety of races. Pupils of pre-school to Class 5 welcomed the school manager at the gate in fancy dresses. The school flag was hoisted and headmistress Pratima Pradhan declared the meet open and released a bunch of balloons. The students took a pledge to adhere to the spirit of sportsmanship. The students participated in races dressed up colourfully. The students of preparatory class and Class 3 presented drill and dumbbells performances which were loved by one and all. The staff members took part in musical chairs. with Sarsawati Vandana. Students then sang a song titled Suno Suno Meri Awaz. A thought-provoking skit was enacted by students. They depicted the importance of education in a woman’s life and why she should not be deprived of it. The assembly culminated with a dance on the lyrics from the movie Pink voiced by Amitabh Bachchan. In her speech principal Sonia Luthra said there is no power greater than that of a woman and that she is the nurturer of society in the true sense. the reason for charity or donation are the most important. The debate provided a platform to learners to prepare and speak with confidence. A question-answer session encouraged the students to listen, think and ask questions. Students were also explained how to give suitable replies.
