SSLT GUJARAT STUDENT SHINES IN POWER-LIFTING

Diksha Sain, a Class 11 student of SSLT Gujarat Sr Sec School, Rajniwas Marg, won a gold medal in the Delhi State Power-lifting Championship in the sub-junior category. She also won a gold medal in National Bench Press Championship held in Jammu in the sub-junior category.

She then took part in the Asian Bench Press Championship events in Manila, Philippines, and won two gold medals. When she returned to India, she was welcomed at the airport by head of school Dr Arti Sharma and three teachers. She also won a silver medal in Sthe school National Games Power Lifting Competition held in Hyderabad.and by winning five gold medals in the Delhi State Power-lifting Championship in Dwarka. Diksha, is a student of the humanities stream, practises for three hours daily and wishes to pursue the sport as a career. Dr Sharma, school manager Amitabh Patel, chairperson Ketan Shah as well as members of the management committee congratulated Diksha on her achievements and wished her the best. about the culture, festivals, traditional dresses, food and each other’s likes and dislikes. Students exchanged greetings and made friends across borders. They learnt a lot by interacting with children of their own age from a different parts of the world. conducted a cultural programme to entertain their seniors. They sang Bollywood songs and presented a dance performance. In her speech, the principal thanked the students for their association with their alma mater and wished them well their board examination as well as for the lives. It was followed by the presentation of mementoes by the guest and the principal. The day left behind beautiful memories.
