comprised vice-principal Yoo Mi Kyong, a teacher Lee Byung Hun and eight students. The team attended a Saraswati Pooja celebration with the GIS students. The delegation visited classrooms to understand the Indian education system. The students of both the schools watched a Powerpoint presentation on the theme of Monuments, a Gateway to History as part of an ISA project. The visiting delegates also participated in another ISA project titled ‘Harmony through music and dance.’ They also attended computer science, music and art classes. The guests learnt meditation and yoga. GIS students presented classical and contemporary dances. The guests charmed the audience by their fusion of Indian and Korean dance forms. Principal Charu Kapoor made the occasion special with her inspiring address. She mentioned that the partnership was valuable in developing global understanding and appreciated South Korea for being a pioneer in advanced technology. She hoped that the partnership would create a better understanding between the people of the two countries. The Federation of Public Schools, Delhi, organised an interactive session at Mayur Public School, IP Extension, Delhi on the safety of students and staff. Schools are considered to be a microcosm of the wider society. The primary responsibility of every school is to ensure a safe and secure environment in school. Officials of Delhi police, principals, management and teachers participated in the meet and discussed ways to ensure the safety of school students and staff. Incidents of crimes against students and staff have increased. Regular security checks and measures would help prevent them.
The panel of officials included Omvir Singh Bishnoi, DCP (East); Ankit Chauhan, additional DCP East; Shobit Saxena, ACP Mayur Vihar and Suraj Singh IPS.
They spoke about security and safety measures such as building of sturdy campus boundary, CCTV cameras in corridors and outside toilets, and ensuring cooperation between parents and the school.
