PUNE: FC Goa roared back into contention with a 4-0 victory over FC Pune City on Sunday.

Needing full points from this crucial battle, FC Goa opened the scoring through Manuel Lanzarote’s penalty in the 28th minute. Hugo Boumous made it 2-0 immediately in the second half and then Ferran Corominas scored twice in the 58th and 65th minute to give Goa a much-needed boost.

The victory took Goa’s points tally to 24 from 16 matches. They are now placed sixth and will qualify for the semi-finals if they win their remaining two matches against ATK at home and fellow play-off chasers Jamshedpur away. Pune City are still second with 29 points from 17 matches and need a draw from their final clash against Delhi Dynamos. And they will have to do that without their captain and leading goalscorer Marcelinho who picked up a red card in this game.

BENGALURU EASE PAST 10-MAN JAMSHEDPUR

BHUBANESWAR: Bengaluru dealt a serious blow to Jamshedpur FC’S hopes of securing a play-off spot with a comfortable 2-0 away victory. The loss for Jamshedpur FC means the fate of the debutants will now go all the way to the last game of the league to be played on March 4.

Miku gave visitors the lead 23 minutes into the game from the spot.barely 10 minutes later the lead was doubled as Sunil Chettri leapt over everyone to head the ball past Paul.

Any chances of a dramatic comeback for Jamshedpur were wiped off when Mehtab Hossain, who had come on as a substitute for Anas Edathodika in the second half, was sent off for a second yellow card offence in added time. 17 17 17 17 17 12 14 926 854 75 5 6 74
