LAST WEEK, KEJRIWAL HAD HELD AN ALLPARTY MEETING WHICH THE CONGRESS ATTENDED BUT BJP BOYCOTTED

NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold an allparty meeting with the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee on Wednesday to find a solution to the problems arising out of the sealing drive.

Both BJP and the Congress have agreed to attend the meeting.

Last week, Kejriwal had sought time from the monitoring committee to discuss the issue.

“As requested by the CM, the monitoring committee representatives will come to Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday for a meeting over sealing issue at 11.30 am. All cabinet ministers will also attend the meeting,” the official said.

Last week, Kejriwal had held an all-party meeting at his residence. The Congress attended the meeting but the BJP boycotted it.

The BJP, however, confirmed attending Wednesday’s meeting. “Yes, we will go to the secretariat for the meeting with monitoring committee on sealing issue,” leader of opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said.

Gupta had last week criticised the AAP government for not holding meeting the members of the monitoring committee even after three months of the sealing in the city.

Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said that his party delegation will attend the meeting.

“We will indicate the existing laws in master plan, which can give relief from the sealing. We will highlight this in front of the monitoring committee. We have recommended the AAP government to hold a meeting with SC appointed panel on the issue,” Maken said.

A Delhi Congress spokesperson said that Maken would nominate a legal expert and other leaders for all party delegation to make presentation before the monitoring committee.
