NOIDA: A 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her residence in sector 52 on Tuesday evening.

The teenager was found hanging by a cloth from a ceiling fan in her room by her parents. She was rushed to Kailash Hospital at sector 27 for immediate medical attention but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

“We received information of a teenage girl committing suicide and a team was immediately sent to Kailash Hospital to receive the body and investigate the issue. As of now, we have sent her body for post mortem,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, station house officer, Sector 24 police station.

The girl was enrolled in Class 9 of a private school in Mayur Vihar, Delhi, and lived with her family.

According to family members, she committed suicide when she was alone in the house and everyone was out running errands.

Although she has not left any suicide note behind, her family members alleged she was under stress due to her poor performance in two subjects in a recently held examination.

“Results were declared on March 16 and she had received seven marks in Social Studies and failed by two marks in Science,” the girl’s father said.

“She always used to say that her teachers will intentionally fail her. She was an extremely laborious student, but she was under extreme stress due to the results,” he said.

The police has not registered a case yet.

“We are probing the case from all angles and soon, a case will be registered. For now, we are waiting for the post mortem report,” said Tripathi.
