Truck runs over two boys in Sarai Rohilla

POLICE ARE ON THE SEARCH FOR THE MAN WHO WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK THAT HIT THE TWO BOYS

NEWDELHI: Two minor boys were crushed to death by a speeding truck in north Delhi on Friday afternoon.

Police said the truck driver who lost control of his vehicle dragged the two boys, aged 10 and 12 years, and hit two other trucks parked on the road.

Eyewitness­es told the police the two boys died on the road.

The accident was reported from the Zakhira flyover in Sarai Rohilla, north Delhi, around 2.30 pm.

Police said Iftikar Alam,10, and Mohammed Aftab,12, who lived in the slums at Zakhira village, were walking on the road leading to the flyover, when the accident took place.

A local, who saw the accident, called the police control room after which a police team reached the spot and rushed them to the Acharya Bhikshu hospital in Moti Nagar, where they were declared brought dead.

Police said they have arrested two men Gautam,40, and Dhan- anjay,32, who had parked their truck on the flyover.

Police are on the search for the third driver who was driving the truck that hit the two boys. The two men told police that they are residents of the same slum where the boys lived and had parked their vehicle at the usual spot.

Police registered a case of causing death due to negligence at the Sarai Rohilla police station.
