One of the slain Maoists, Nandu Atram, was the Aheri dalam (squad) commander and carried a reward of ₹16 lakh on his head. The search operation was stopped on Sunday evening until Monday afternoon because of heavy rain in the area and lack of sufficient personnel. “A combing operation was again launched since Monday evening to search bodies in Indravarti river and 15 more bodies were recovered,” said deputy inspector general (Gadchiroli range) Ankush Shinde.

Maharashtra’s additional director general of police (special operations), D Kanakaratnam, who visited the spot on Tuesday afternoon, said only 21 of the slain Maoists had been identified so far. The identified extremists carried a collective reward of ₹1.09 crore, he said.

“We had information about the movement of Perimili dalam (squad) of the CPI (Maoist) near Tadgaon. So, we launched an operation on Saturday evening. On Sunday, around 9.30am, an encounter ensued that continued for hours. This is the first time that two divisional committee members of the CPI (Maoist) were killed in a single operation,” said Shinde. 73-day military standoff last year. The objective -- that road construction by the Chinese military should not “prejudice” the understanding on the region -has been fulfilled, the officials said. Last year’s stand-off between the two armies was resolved through diplomatic channels.

Kong said the Doklam standoff occurred because of a lack of mutual trust. “At the informal summit, the two leaders will have heart-to-heart discussions on overarching issues and try to build mutual trust and consensus to resolve outstanding differences,” he said at a briefing on Tuesday evening.

He added, “The two countries need to create conditions and trust between them to resolve the boundary issue.

“In terms of some specific differences and sensitive issues, the two sides will stay in touch…through relevant channels…and in the process of deepening mutual trust, they will gradually find a way to settle them.”

Modi will directly fly to Wuhan on the evening of April 26 and meet Xi several times over the next two days. They are expected to go for a walk along the banks of a famous lake in the city.

The idea of the summit germinated at a meeting of the two leaders during the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in Xiamen in south China last September. Modi and Xi had a bilateral meeting during the BRICS summit, days after the militaries of the two countries disengaged in Doklam.

Explaining the need for an informal summit instead of the usual structured meetings between leaders, Kong said it was important to build “rock solid trust” between the two leaders. “In other words, leaders need to become bosom friends, friends who can have heart-to-heart discussions,” he said. demand for management graduates soared as the economy grew, leading to a spurt in new private and government-backed institutes. But in the absence of competent faculty and industry training facilities, experts say most B-schools began churning out graduates who were far from being job-ready.

“There is a serious problem with placements across various streams, and management too is affected,” said SS Mantha, former AICTE chairman.

“The employment scene across the disciplines has undergone a subtle change. For instance, entry level jobs are being boxed out due to AI and automation. At the same time, jobs that require higher-order skills are created but are small in number. Hence the supply demand equation is skewed. So naturally institutes that are unable to sustain will close down,” he added. both in court and Parliamentary debates, is significant. The incidental impact of this has been a growing tendency of lawyer members to drag intra-court disputes into the parliamentary process. The misconceived motion for the impeachment of the Chief Justice of India is just one example of this.”

Responding to the Rajya Sabha chair’s defence and Jaitley’s views, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said: “The BJP is playing politics by blocking inquiry so that the truth does not emerge.”
