New Horizon Public School (NHPS), Nizamuddin, recently celebrated its second founder’s day. The chief guest of the event was Qamar Ahmed (IPS), former chairman of the Minorities Commission. School chairman Salahuddin Ahmed Siddiqui, manager Kamal Faruqui, WEDO vice-president Anis-ur-rehman, and management members Mohd Naqi and Mohd Yahya attended the event. The theme of event was ‘Communion’ . The theme emphasised upon the union between teachers and technology to bring out the best in the students. The event began with an invocation based on singer AR Rahman’s song followed by a wecome address by head boy Mohd Faizan of Class 8. Thereafter a ceremonial lamp was lit to pay tribute to the teaching community. Senior girls of NHPS presented a dance performanc­e titled ‘Swagatam’ which depicted the national integratio­n. Headmistre­ss Saiqa Rizwani read out the annual report titled ‘The Rewind 2016-17’. It was followed by the introducti­on of the guests by Faruqui. The guests released the school’s annual magazine ‘NHPS Mirror’. The chief guest gave away the prizes to meritoriou­s students and soprtstars of NHPS. In the end, a motion play based on the communion of teacher and technology was presented. It was a musical dance drama which was conceived, written, directed and enacted by the students. The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the head boy. emphasised on the imporatanc­e of honesty and integrity and explained how these qualities made leaders successful and effective. The principal also told the newly-elected students about the significan­ce of their positions which comes with a lot of expectatio­ns and urged them to carry out their duties.
