German man, 55, files molestatio­n complaint against Gzb hotel staffer

GHAZIABAD: A 55-year-old German national has claimed he was molested at a hotel in Kaushambi i n Ghaziabad where he was staying, by an employee of the hotel’s sales department on Tuesday.

The man approached Indirapura­m police on May 2 and filed a complaint following which the police lodged an FIR naming the staff and booked him under IPC sections of causing hurt and allegedly indulging in obscene acts.

“We have lodged the FIR and will thoroughly investigat­e the incident as reported by the foreign national. We are continuing with our investigat­ion,” said Sachin Malik, station house officer, Indirapura­m.

The man said in his complaint that the accused approached him in room number 402 on the evening of May 1 and tried to touch his private parts after starting a conversati­on with him.

He stated that he was getting ready to go to the gym when the staff visited his room. The victim man said that he had already sent an email to the hotel staff that he will be leaving for Munich on May 4.

“I tried to tell him to move out but he insisted to stay and have a general talk. Then he moved forward and touched my body. Then he touched my private parts and I told him to leave. But he laughed and insisted to stay longer. I told him that I was going to gym but he again touched my abdomen and later my private parts,” the complainan­t said in his police complaint.

The police said that they have come to know that the victim man was staying in the hotel for the past many days and the incident took place when he was about to leave.

“We are questionin­g the staff of the hotel in order to get more details,” Malik added.
