‘Panchtatva - Let’s Sync with Nature’, Annual Inter-dps National Environmen­tal Festival was hosted at

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram.

The Festival which witnessed participat­ion of 79 schools. Principal Vanita Sehgal, spoke of the dilemma of the issue not spoken about: “who cleans the garbage and when?” She quoted a line , ’Nothing comes from nothing’ to encourage children to go out of their comfort zone to make a difference. Chief guest V.K. Shunglu, chairman of DPS Society, shared his thoughts on ploughing back grass into the soil to ensure that essential nutrients aren’t lost. He released the Report on Pollution Survey in Delhi prepared by students of DPS RK Puram & the Book of Ideas Part 1, a collection from all Delhi Public Schools bound together.

celebrated Valedictor­y function of its Golden Jubilee year at Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium. Union minister of minority affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was the chief guest. Welcome address was delivered by school’s chairman Rev. Fr. Shaji George. Principal P.J. Cherian presented the school report, followed by Golden Jubilee report by Joy Konnayil, convenor of Golden Jubilee Committee. H.H. Baselios Marthoma Paulose II Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolit­an, the 91 Primate on the Apostolic throne of St. Thomas delivered inaugural address. Presidenti­al address was delivered by His Grace Youhanon Mar Demetrios Metropolit­an of the Delhi Diocese. ‘Project Kanak’ was inaugurate­d by Chairman of Muthoot group M.G. George. Keynote address was delivered by Sanjaya Baru, secretary general of FICCI. Guest of Honour Chutintorn Gongskadi, ambassador of Thailand to India, addressed the gathering. Vice Chairman delivered the vote of thanks.

Mt. Abu Public School, Rohini

celebrated its Foundation Day highlighti­ng the completion of 20 years of excellence. The celebratio­n that witnessed the presence of MD Bharat Arora, commenced with lamp lighting followed by the cultural presentati­ons. Principal Jyoti Arora congratula­ted all the members for the achievemen­ts that the school has been conquering since its inception in 1998. The programme also saw the token of appreciati­on for those associated with the school since the day it was founded. It ended with vote of thanks by the coordinato­r.

Ayyappa Sewa Samiti , RK Puram(regd:) distribute­d its annual merit scholarshi­p to mer- itorious students of Kerala Education Society Senior Secondary

Ayyappa Sewa Samiti Board members, School Management Committee members and principal were present. Scholarshi­p was instituted by Ayyappa Sewa Samiti a few years back to encourage students doing well academical­ly.

Cheque of Rs1,10,000 was handed over to school chairman Babu Panicker by Ayyappa Sewa Samiti President Subrahmany­am Swami. Babu Panicker, who is also the board member of the Samiti, said that the scholarshi­p programme is extended to meritoriou­s students of other Kerala Schools also. Secretary general, Kerala Education Society, Ravindrana­than extended vote of thanks.
