RAIPUR: Ajit Jogi, president of the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh, said on Thursday that the NDA government at the Centre and the BJP government in the state are deceiving the people and that he wanted to change the politics by forming the government in the state.

Jogi further alleged that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is in ‘fear’ after the Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress organised a rally in Marwahi constituency at a village in Kotmi, few kilometres from Jogi’s rally in Pendra.

“Rahul Gandhi is going to Durg and Sitapur but not to adjacent Rajnandgaon (the constituency of chief minister Raman Singh) and Jashpur (the constituency of Union minister of state for steel and mines Vishnudeo Sai) which shows that he is offering the BJP’S chief minister and Union minister his respects just outside their doorsteps by not challenging them by entering their home constituencies,” he said.

“Rahul should come here and see how many people have trust on me and my party,” Jogi said in his rally.

Jogi was Congress chief min- ister of Chhattisgarh from 2000 to 2003 before the party was ousted by the BJP under Raman Singh, who has been ruling the state since.

In 2016, Jogi quit the Congress and formed his own party after his son was expelled on charges of “anti-party activities” for a period of six years.

However, recently Jogi’s wife Renu Jogi, a Congress legislator in Chhattisgarh was seen in a programme in Raipur along with Congress leaders.

Jogi claimed that he will formed government in Chhattisgarh and he will first waive off the debts of farmers.
