NEW DELHI: The online entrance tests for admission to Delhi University’s 10 undergradu­ate, and all postgradua­te and research courses will be held from June 17 to 21.

The online computer-based entrance tests will be held in 18 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jammu and Varanasi, a DU official said. The results are likely to be announced from June 23 to 27 and interviews will be conducted from June 27 to July 2, according to the schedule announced by the university.

The online registrati­on process for t he undergradu­ate courses started on May 15 and for postgradua­te courses it began on Friday. The online registrati­on for research programmes will start on Sunday.

There are 10 undergradu­ate programmes for which entrance will be conducted, including BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences, and Bachelor of Ele- mentary Education (B El Ed)

The university conducts a joint admission test (JAT) for admission to Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administra­tion (Financial Investment Analysis) BBA (FIA) and BA (Honors) Business Economics. The test is will be held on June 17. There are at least 64 postgradua­te courses and 50 research courses for which entrance tests will be conducted.

Half of the postgradua­te seats are filled through the entrance test, which is open to all students. The other half seats are filled on merit and are available for students who have graduated from the university, an official said.

“The question paper will be objective type with multiplech­oice questions of two hours duration,” the official said.

The tests will be conducted in three shifts on the same day with the first shift from 8-10 am, the second shift from 12-2 pm, and the third shift from 4-6 pm.

The decision to conduct online entrance tests was taken last year but due to opposition from students, the university shelved the plans to conduct it for postgradua­te, Mphil and PHD courses. The online test was conducted for only some undergradu­ate courses last year.
