How will schools implement 7th Pay Commission without fee hike: HC
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Monday sought to know the stand of the AAP government on how the private schools were expected to implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations without increasing the fee.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar posed the query while hearing a plea by an NGO Social Jurist which sought implementation of the 7th Pay Commission with regard to 2 lakh teaching and non-teaching staff working in 2000 unaided private schools of Delhi.
The court asked the Delhi government to file its status report on the implementation of the pay panel recommendations in private unaided schools. It also asked to monitor the implementation of the recommendations.
Replying to the question, the government said it had issued an order in August last year asking all private unaided schools to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission and added that it has not received any complaint from teachers.
“Why should you wait for complaints? You have to monitor the implementation of your order. Here you cannot take the excuse that the central government is not giving you funds,” the bench said. The remarks come on the plea seeking implementation of recommendations regarding the teaching and non-teaching staff of private unaided schools.
