CBSE Class 10 results set to be announced today
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce Class 10 results for the academic session 2017-18 on Tuesday at around 4pm.
The current batch of Class 10 students took the compulsory board exams after a gap of eight years.
In 2009, the Union human resource development (HRD) ministry made the Class 10 exams optional from the 2010-11 academic session till 2016-17.
But last year, the ministry decided to reintroduce the compulsory Class 10 board exams and 16,38,428 candidates registered for the examination that started on March 6 and ended on April 4.
The exam was conducted at 4,453 centres across India and 78 centres outside India.
Anil Swarup, secretary (school education and literacy), HRD ministry said in a tweet, “Results of CBSE Class 10 exam- inations f or 2017-18 to be declared by 4pm on 29th of May, 2018.”
Students can check their results on the official websites of the board: www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in and www.results.nic.in.
This year, students will also be able to check their results directly on search engines — Google (www.google.in) and Microsoft (www.bing.com).
Students can also send a SMS on 7738299899 to get their results through mobile text. Students from Delhi can call 011-24300699 and students from rest of the country can call 011-24300699 to know the results.
The board exams were marred by controversy this year with incidents of leak of Class 10 Mathematics question paper and the Class 12 economics paper were reported from different parts of the country, including the national Capital.
The board decided to not conduct a re-test for Class 10 in the “interest of students”.
