Joint admission test for management on June 22

“The entrance exam will be of two hours duration based on multiple choice questions (MCQS) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of the applicants,” a DU official said.

The official said the questions in the entrance test will come from quantitati­ve ability, reasoning, analytical ability, general English, business and general awareness.

“There will be 100 questions. Each correct answer will fetch four marks while for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted. An unanswered question fetch zero marks,” the official said.

The minimum eligibilit­y for applying to the courses is 60% in aggregate of four papers including English, Mathematic­s and other two elective subjects in Class 12.

After the entrance test, a merit list will be made for the qualified candidates based on their score in the JAT and their Class 12 marks. “The weightage given to Class 12 marks is 35% and the entrance exam will be given a weightage of 65%,” according to the university rules.

Harish Dhawan, one of the in-charge for JAT, said the three courses are designed to let students directly enter management jobs after getting an undergradu­ate degree.

He said students also opt to go for higher studies such as masters in economics and commerce and MBA.

Those pursuing BMS have the option of doing specialisa­tion in final year in one of the three fields — finance, marketing and human resource. After graduating, students can become financial analysts, data analysts and financial researcher­s.

Students pursuing BBA (FIA) can go for jobs in fund management and financial management. “This is a high-end finance course and students can go for jobs in stock market, investment banking, venture capital companies, private equity investment firms,” a teacher said.

The BA(H) Business Economics course is a combinatio­n of commerceba­sed and economics-based subjects. The course prepares students to work in banking, financial institutes and retail banking. Students who pursue this course are eligible for both MA (Economics) and M.com.
