MANY COMPLAINED THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THEIR ADMIT CARDS FROM THE WEBSITE

NEWDELHI: Delhi University applicants had a tough time downloading their admit cards on Friday for the entrance tests starting from Sunday, due to technical problems.

Many students turned up at the university to check on their admit cards with only a day left for the exam.

There are 28 entrance tests, including the ones meant for postgraduate, PHD and law programmes, scheduled for Sunday.

“I have come from Faridabad because I was not able to download the admit card yesterday. I have filled Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow as my exam-centre options, but I still don’t know where my centre will be, as I don’t have the admit card,” said Pramod Maurya, who is supposed to take the Mphil entrance exam.

The university on Thursday uploaded the admit cards for entrance exams taking place on Sunday and Monday, but many students complained they have not been able to download their cards.

“Since morning, many students have to come to us, asking about the admit card. There is a lot of traffic online due to which students are not able to access their cards. We have told them to try again in the evening,” said a DU official.

Officials claimed that the website was working fine after 5 pm. Some students said they were eventually able to download the admit cards around 5 pm.

“But it is so last minute. My centre is Delhi but for students who have been allocated centres in different cities, it will be very problematic to reach theirs on time, as there is only a day left,” said a student on condition of anonymity.

Another student said he went to the university exam centre and got a hard copy of his admit card for the LLB exam. “I got a hard copy, but I still don’t have it on my mail even though they said they will send it by 7pm,” said Dushyant, an applicant for the Law programme.
