Two men wanted for murder in Delhi arrested from Bulandshahr
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police’s crime branch on Thursday arrested two men who were wanted in a murder case of Mangolpuri and carried cash reward on their arrest.
The duo was identified as Himanshu Gujjar and his cousin Vikas Singh, both residents of Mangolpuri.
Police had earlier arrested Himanshu’s father Mukesh Gujjar on June 17, who was also wanted for the same murder and was carrying a cash reward of ₹1.25 lakh on his arrest. He had been on the run for nine years.
Deputy commissioner of police (crime branch) Ram Gopal Naik said that in April 2017, one Deepak, a resident of Mangolpuri, had allegedly molested Himanshu’s sister and also broke her teeth.
“This enraged both Himanshu and his father Mukesh and they decided to eliminate Deepak On June 8 last year, Himanshu and his cousin Vikas shot Deepak dead in a crowded market of Mangolpuri. Both Himanshu and Vikas had been absconding since then,” Naik said.
On Thursday, a crime branch team received information that Himanshu and Vikas will visit a village near Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
A police team was sent and both the men were arrested.
During interrogation, Himanshu said he had an attempt to murder case registered against him.
