Vision of justice doesn’t always become reality, says Justice Gogoi
NEW DELHI: The courts have done their bit to uphold the “vision of justice” detailed in the Constitution, but such efforts have not really made a difference on the ground, where it is a “descent into chaos” with messengers being sued, shot, or simply not delivering the message out of fear, justice Ranjan Gogoi said on Thursday. For the justice system to become more effective, the focus needs to move to the enforcement of the judiciary’s decisions, Gogoi said at the Ramnath Goenka Lecture. Factory output growth measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was revised down to 4.8% in April from previous estimates of 4.9%, according to the Central Statistics Office. The IIP had expanded by 2.9% in May last year. The previous low of industrial production growth was 1.8% in Oct 2017
