Bhaker, Bhanwala shoot gold
NEWDELHI: Extending her golden run, teenager Manu Bhaker won her ninth international gold medal in the last one year while talented Anish Bhanwala also emerged champion at the Meeting of the Shooting Hopes, a junior tournament being held at the Military Shooting Range in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
Manu led scored 238.7 to finish ahead of France’s Camille Jedrzejewski (234.1) and Martina Marsalkova (212.9) of Slovakia in women’s 10m air pistol.
Anish won gold in men’s 25m rapid fire pistol . He shot 33 out of 40 with a resounding five hits out of five finish. Another Indian Anhad Jawanda won bronze with a score of 21.
MANE, JOSHI PLACED T-3
JAKARTA: Bengaluru golfers Udayan Mane and Khalin Joshi shot five-under 67 each to be Tied-3rd after the first round of the $ 500,000 Bank BRI Indonesia Open on Thursday.
The duo was one shot behind co-leaders, Johannes Veerman of the US and Australia’s Matthew Millar, who sunk four consecutive birdies from holes four to seven. Gaganjeet Bhullar and Jyoti Randhawa carded threeunder 69 each to be Tied-18th, while Shiv Kapur shot 70 to be placed Tied-32nd.
