STF resolves four complaints received through DDA’S app
NEWDELHI: The Special Task Force (STF), set up by the Centre to monitor issues arising out of unauthorised constructions in the national Capital, has resolved four complaints it received through the app in last week.
A senior DDA official privy to the matter said the STF had forwarded 252 complaints about illegal constructions and encroachment to concerned agencies for their swift redressal.
“The mechanism established to deal with unauthorised construction has started bearing results. After the STF sent complaints to the agencies, they are being appropriately investigated. Till now, the STF has disposed of four cases,” he said.
The STF has received information about illegal constructions at 261 locations since the app — DDA 311 — was launched on last Monday. DDA’S vice chairman Udai Pratap Singh heads the STF.
After scrutiny and segregation, a total of 252 complaints were sent to various civic bodies — north, east, and south Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) — and other agencies such as the Delhi Police, and Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
The precise number of similar grievances lodged by city residents on DDA’S website and written complaints are not available, the official said.
Highest number of complaints (104) was filed from the jurisdiction of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) followed by DDA, which has been notified about 71 cases. A total of 29 complaints were reported from North Delhi Municipal Corporation and only three were from East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) areas. There are 16 complaints from NDMC area, eight under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Police, and three for DJB.
“As soon as the complaint is addressed, the concerned agencies report it to the STF and its status is automatically updated in the app. So far, the DDA has closed three such complaints and north municipal corporation has resolved one,” said the official.
