Woman alleges gang rape by 4 friends, 2 arrested
RANCHI: Two men were sent to judicial custody on Sunday in connection with gang rape of a 25-year-old woman here on Friday, police said. The woman has alleged that she was gang raped by four of her friends in an apartment complex in Hinoo, under Doranda police station.
Doranda police station in-charge Abid Khan said, “We have nabbed two accused, identified as Vikram, 30, and Sonu, 31. Both are residents of Hinoo.”
He said Vikram is enrolled in a private commercial pilot training college in Patna, while Sonu is engaged in a small business here.
“Two other accused, Sushil Kachap, 38, and Subhash Munda, 39, are absconding. We have launched a man-hunt to nab them,” he said.
After a case was registered, police sent the woman for medical examination.
“The report is awaited... Further investigations are on. We will arrest the remaining accused soon,” he said. NEW DELHI: The one political controversy I was pleased to read about this week was about the safety of the shoes tribals in Madhya Pradesh were being given. The argument was about toxic azo dyes in these shoes. I know it’s about political parties pulling each other down, but it draws attention to green procurement by the government.
When governments procure stuff with a smaller ecological footprint, it creates larger markets for green products, stabilising and mainstreaming them.
