City reported profits of £10.4million, a fourth consecutive year of profitability, with wages to revenue ratio falling to 52 percent.

“Our journey is not complete and we have more targets to fulfil,” said chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who recently celebrated a decade of the club’s Abu Dhabi-backed takeover.

‘PEAK’ FORM AGUERO

City striker Sergio Aguero has said there is no lingering pain in his knee for the first time in years and he feels in peak condition following surgery in April.

“During the past few years, I felt pains at times and when last season came to an end, we decided it would be best to start treatment. And the results were positive. I’m not sure if this is the best start of a season for me, but it’s the best I’ve felt in years,” Aguero told the club’s website.

SILVA EYES 2020 EXIT

City star David Silva expects to leave the Premier League champions at the end of his contract in 2020 and likes the idea of joining boyhood club Las Palmas.

Silva joined City from Valencia for a reported €29million in 2010 and has since won three league titles at the club.

“For City, two more seasons - what’s left on my contract,” he told BBC Sport when asked how much longer he is likely to continue playing.

“After that, I don’t know. It depends how I feel physically and mentally. I’ve always said that I’d like to play for Las Palmas - my local team. But we’ll see how things go in two years.”
