Following treatment of a cancerous liver tumour, the French footballer made a comeback before the end of the 2010-11 season. In March 2012, the Barca star suffered a relapse and needed a liver transplant. He bounced back.

Roelant Oltmans, who formerly served as the coach of the Indian men’s hockey team, has resigned from the post of Pakistan hockey head coach.

The move came after Pakistan’s poor performances in prestigious tournaments like 2018 Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and the Champions Trophy.

Oltmans, in a letter to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), stated that the current circumstances are unsuitable to bring the best out of the players.

“I am responsible for the performance and results of the team. I feel that the circumstances at present do not create an environment where we can get the best out of the team,” Geo TV quoted the Dutch coach as saying in a letter to the PHF.

WOODS MAINTAINS SHARE OF THE LEAD

ATLANTA: Tiger Woods edged closer to snapping a five-year winless drought as the 14-time major winner maintained a share of the lead at the halfway stage of the Tour Championship.

Woods birdied the final hole en route to a 68 to tie Justin Rose (67) at seven-under par 133 in heatwave conditions at the East Lake golf course in Atlanta.

Rory Mcilroy remains in the hunt in sole possession of third after shooting a 68.

Woods had been two strokes clear of his rivals before stumbling to a double-bogey on 16.
