DHOLPUR : Launching his 150 km road-show, Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Vasundhara Rajeled BJP government for not doing anything for people. The Congress leader recalled the work done by the UPA government and accused the BJP government in the state of failing on all counts.

“Under the UPA government, we gave MNREGA, waived off ~70,000 crore loans of farmers, enacted Right to Information and Tribal Rights Acts. Ashok Gehlot government gave free medicine. Now tell me what have they (BJP) given?” he asked.

“I went to the PM and said you want to waive of loans , do it but do the same for the farmers also. He was silent. Now here , one month before the elections the CM announces free electricity to farmers – I want to ask what were you doing in last four and a half years,” he said.

Gandhi alleged that Lalit Modi gave crores of rupees to Raje’s son and then he fled. “Both Modi and the chief minister have failed. Bring a new CM here and remove Modi from Delhi,” he said. Admitting that the pervious Congress government in the state did not listen to party workers, he said, “I promise it will not happen again. I assure that when government is formed, it will be of public and worker and homes of the CM and ministers’ gates will be open .”

The Congress leader said that employment to youth will be a priority for his party. He also ruled out the possibility of giving tickets to those joining the Congress from other parties just before elections.

Reacting to the speech, BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said Gandhi’s speech was not based on facts and he lacked maturity. “The government has improved the state’s fiscal health which the Congress had left in shambles. The BJP has performed better than the Congress government on all fronts,” he said.
