NAGAL, MYNENI OUSTED FROM ATP NINGBO CHALLENGER

NEW DELHI: Sumit Nagal suffered yet another first-round exit, albeit, after a valiant fight, while Saketh Myneni suffered a tame defeat as India’s singles challenge shrunk at the ATP Ningbo Challenger on Tuesday. Nagal lost 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 against Thomas Fabbiano in the opening round, while Myneni lost his opening match 3-6, 2-6 to Renta Tokuda.

WARRIORS WIN

SONEPAT: Bengal Warriors registered their second consecutiv­e win beating Telugu Titans 30-25 in a Pro Kabaddi encounter. Maninder Singh was in fine raiding form for the Warriors and scored 11 points . It was a disappoint­ing night for Telugu Titans as they squandered many opportunit­ies.

AVINASH IN FINAL

NEW DELHI: Avinash reached the final of the Delhi State 15-Red Sr Snooker Championsh­ip at Megapool Academy with scintillat­ing play, notched up breaks of 79 and 69 in the first and second frames of the semi-final tie against Rishabh Jain. Such was Avinash’s command that in the first frame, Rishabh could not even open his account. The score was 102-0, 71-7, 56-22, 56-66 and 79-45.

NEHRU HOCKEY

NEWDELHI: Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai scored a 15-0 win over Noble Internatio­nal School, Bhilwara to move into the second round of the Nehru Sub-junior Hockey Tournament on Tuesday. SNBP School, Pune crushed Punjab Public School, Nabha 9-0. Sirsa’s SPS School also advanced into the second round thrashing Goa’s Janta High School 23-0.

MAHINDRA DRIVERS

NEW DELHI: Former Formula 1 drivers Pascal Wehrlein and Jerome D’ambrosio on Tuesday joined Mahindra Racing for the 2018-19 season of Formula E. While Wehrlein will make his debut in the series, team-mate D’ambrosio is a double race-winner in Formula E.

German Wehrlein competed in two full seasons of F1, contesting for Manor (2016) and Sauber (2017).
