GURUGRAM: A 16-year-old girl from Delhi was allegedly raped in a city hotel’s room by a man she knew, police said on Wednesday.

The accused also threatened the girl to not tell anyone about the incident and even threaten her over phone after the alleged rape, said Suman, sub-inspector who is the investigating officer in the case. An FIR was registered at Women Police Station in Sector 51. The incident happened in a city hotel on October 8, the officer said.

The girl, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, lives with her family in Shalimar Bagh of Delhi, and she and her mother work as domestic helps, the police said.

A ‘zero FIR’ was registered in Delhi on October 13 and later transferred to Gurugram. The FIR was filed under section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, in the city.

The girl said that she met the accused through a friend and had been talking to him for the past two months. She said that following his request, she came to Gurugram on October 8 and he took her to a hotel on his motorcycle.

“The girl told us that she was raped inside the hotel room by the accused,” Suman said.

The following morning, the accused travelled with the girl till Chhattarpur Metro station, after they boarded a Metro together. “The girl is yet to come to Gurugram. She has not told us anything about the accused’s age or job or in which hotel she was raped,” the officer said.

“She had given us both of his phone numbers, but they are switched off. We are trying to trace him,” Suman said.
