NEWDELHI: In two separate incidents, two men were allegedly stabbed to death in Kanti Nagar in East Delhi’s Shahdara area and in central Delhi.

A 20-year-old man, who was stabbed multiple times late Thursday night by three of his friends following an argument, succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The Delhi Police have arrested the three accused, who claimed to be juveniles.

Deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara), Meghna Yadav, said they received a PCR call around 9.30pm, wherein the caller reported that a man, identified as Ashok, a resident of west Kanti Nagar, was stabbed on his abdomen, arms and face.

A police team that had rushed to the spot took the man to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital but he was unable to record a statement.

Yadav said the man succumbed to his injuries during treatment, and that a case of murder was registered.

“During probe, it was revealed that Ashok was last seen with three of his friends. The friends were identified and raids were conducted to nab them. After they were caught, the three told the police that an argument started while they were consuming alcohol near Maharana Pratap Park around 9pm. The argument soon escalated and the three attacked Ashok with a knife,” Yadav said.

In another murder reported on Friday night, a 55-year-old man, Ranjan Biswas, was found lying on the road with stab wounds on his neck in central Delhi’s Tank Road. The victim used to run a tea stall in the same area. The police are trying to identify the accused.
