ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET

Delhi Internatio­nal School, Sector 23, Dwarka, hosted its Annual Athletic Meet with zeal and excitement.

Dr Jyoti Mann, internatio­nal netball coach and gold medallist in Olympic Games 2016, presided over the event as the chief guest. The guest of honour was Navin Gulia, world-record holder in adventure sports and internatio­nally acclaimed author, adventurer and social worker. School manager Bhagat Singh, principal Dr Priti Ojha, Vinni, member of the school management committee, Priyanka Brara, principal of DIS Rohini and Roopal Pandaya, head of DIS Edge also graced the occasion. The programme began with manager Singh welcoming the gathering and emphasisin­g on the importance of sports in a child’s life. The meet was then officially declared open by the chief guest. This was followed by the inter-house march past. Students then presented aerobics, ribbon drill, fan dance and yoga. They also presented dumbbell drill and Taekwondo. They took part in “first time, fun time race”, hurdle race, flat race and relay race. The chief guest and the guest of honour felicitate­d the winners of different events. Principal Dr Priti Ojha praised the efforts of the student council, parents, teachers, especially the physical education teachers.

The best march past trophy and the best house trophy was awarded to the Parijaat house. Taekwondo was adjudged as the best event.
