GHAZIABAD: A trader from Indirapuram was allegedly abducted and robbed by four men who drove along with the victim for around one-and-half-hours before dumping him near NH-24 late Sunday night. Police said although they are probing the case, they are suspicious about it.

According to the victim, Sunil Kumar, he was driving his car on the Hindon canal road around 9.30pm when four men in a Swift car overtook him near Gaur Green Avenue, close to NH-24.

“Three of them boarded my car and one pointed a pistol to my head. They pushed me to the rear seat and drove my car. The Swift was following us. They beat me up severely,” Kumar alleged.

He said the accused got hold of his ATM card. “They drove towards Khichdipur and stopped near an ATM. However, the PIN I gave them did not work, after which they beat me up. Then, they drove towards Vinod Nagar in Delhi but did not go forward as they saw a police barricade. They took away my gold rings, chain and ₹4.5 lakh cash in my car, and dumped me near NH-24. They threw my phone in my car and locked it up before fleeing in their car,” he added.

He later filed a complaint at the Indirapuram police station. “The incident seems suspicious to us and we are probing it. The victim was taken away and driven around but was dumped back almost at the same place by the robbers. We have received his complaint and an FIR is being registered,” Ravi Kumar, assistant superintendent of police, Indirapuram, said.
