Krishna scores as ATK win 5-0 vs Hyderabad in ISL
KOLKATA:FORMER champions ATK got off to a flying start at home, defeating Hyderabad FC 5-0 in an Indian Super League clash at the Salt Lake Stadium on Friday.
ATK took a 3-0 lead in the first half with David Williams scoring in the 25th and 44th minutes.
ATK’S star Fijian recruit Roy Krishna also got his name on the scoresheet in the 27th minute before Edu Garcia struck in the 88th and 90th minutes.
I-LEAGUE FROM NOV 30 NEW DELHI: The 2019-20 I-league will start on November 30, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced on Friday. The official broadcaster for the league was not revealed with the federation stating that an official confirmation will be coming “within a week.”
The AIFF also stated that a maximum of “three foreign players can be replaced by a club during the entire course of Hero I-league 2019-20. Maximum of eight officials will be allowed to sit on the bench during a match.” The U-22 player quota rule will be finalised after a meeting between the clubs and the AIFF.
AFC CUP FINAL MOVED KUALALUMPUR: The location of the AFC Cup final between North Korea’s 4.25 SC and Lebanon’s Al Ahed has been switched yet again and will now be played in Kuala Lumpur, the Asian Football
Confederation said on Friday. Earlier this week, the continental governing body moved the final to Shanghai from Pyongyang due to international economic sanctions affecting North Korea.
The AFC said the decision was based on considerations over the televising and promotion of the game so that it is viewable throughout Asia and the Middle East. The AFC did not provide any reason for the latest switch but said the final will now be played at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium on Nov. 4, two days later than the originally scheduled date.
PHOGAT’S MMA FIGHT NEW DELHI: Ritu Phogat, sister of the celebrated women’s wrestler duo Geeta and Babita, will debut as a Mixed Martial Art fighter in Beijing on November 16.
Phogat won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships, a silver medal at the World U23 Wrestling World Championships, a bronze medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships.
