11 of dead were from one Bihar district

SOME PEOPLE CLAIMED THEY HAD NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATI­ON OF THEIR LOSS AND RELIED MOSTLY ON THE NEWS

DARBHANGA: A pall of gloom descended on the three villages of Singhia block in Bihar’s Samastipur as the news of 11 people killed in Sunday’s Delhi fire mishap reached their native places.

The fire took a heavy toll in Haripur village as the tally rose to seven whereas two people each in Brahmpura and Belahi village respective­ly perished in the factory’s fire.

MAN LOSES TWO SONS

Mohd Ulfat lost his two sons — Mohd Sajid alias Jojo (25) and Mohd Wajid alias Ganba (18). Haripur village native Mohd Muzim’s son Mohd Sajid was unable to escape from the spot and died in the mishap.

A local resident Mohd Nazir identified Sajid among other deceased persons in different hospitals in Delhi.

Other victims from village include Mohd Guddu, son of Mohd Alam; Sadre Alam, son of Mohd Mansur; Mohd Akbar, son of Mohd Razzak and Mohd Atabul, son of Mohd Hasan.

The people of Belahi village received confirmati­on about the death of two persons on Monday.

Mohd Khalid (10), son of Mohd Sabbir and Mohd Ehsan (16), son of Hasim Mia were killed in the fire mishap,confirmed the Singhia block developmen­t officer (BDO) Manorama Kumari.

Similarly, Mahboob (13), son of Mohd Idris besides Sehmat, son of Mohd Ainul from Brajmpura village were also killed in the mishap. Mahboob was identified from his Aadhaar Card found in his mobile phone.

In Madhubani district, Mohd Shakir (28), a native of Malmal village in Kaluahi block was feared to have been killed in the mishap, however, the report remained unconfirme­d. Kaluahi BDO said that he came to know about Shakir from media reports but had no official intimation so far.

Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, Samastipur magistrate and Rosera SDO remained unavailabl­e for comments.
