INCREASE IN HOSPITAL BEDS

-

Mid-june, when Delhi was experiencing a sudden spike of new cases, experts said that 15,000 beds would be required by the end of the month. On May 30, Delhi had 8,500 Covid beds in hospitals, out of which 5,914 were vacant. As of June 30, the city has 13,661 beds (7,749 vacant). This count excludes the beds that will be added with a new 10,000-bed facility coming up in Chhatarpur, and those being added as banquet halls across the city are turned into makeshift Covid facilities
