nNEWDELHI: Asserting that he will continue to speak the truth about China’s transgressions even at the cost of his political career, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that those claiming that Chinese forces have not occupied Indian territory in Ladakh are “not nationalistic and patriotic”.

Stepping up the attack on the government over Chinese intrusions, Gandhi claimed that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China continue to occupy parts of Indian territory in Ladakh.

“Now, it is pretty clear that the Chinese have entered our territory. This disturbs me. It makes frankly my blood boil. How can some other nation just come into our territory?” he said in a video message released on Monday.

“I think the people who are lying about Chinese entering our country are the people that are not nationalistic. I think the people who are lying and who are saying the Chinese are not in India, they are the people who are not patriotic,” he said.

The former Congress president asserted that he will not lie to the people of India on Chinese intrusions even if it costs him politically.

“So frankly, I don’t care if it costs me politically. I don’t care if I have no political career at all after that. But, I am going to say the truth as far as Indian territory is concerned,” he said.

Hitting back, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said Gandhi has insulted the 20 soldiers who stood like a rock and gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect the Indian borders.

“Mr Gandhi your family and your party governments have ceded 43,000 sq km of Indian land to China and you have the gumption to utter lies day in and day out. If you have any shame, your party and your party president must apologies to this country for having surrendered India’s land,” he added.
