With the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country and the “crazy” situation all around, actor Saqib Saleem is all for the lockdown as he considers it the best solution. “It’s so alarming to see the numbers and it feels like last year never happened... The second wave has been huge and everyone around you is testing positive, so it is a bit worrisome,” he says, thankful to be with his family in the current scenario.

The Crackdown actor ensures that he doesn’t step out unnecessarily. “One has to prioritise what’s important before stepping out. I don’t think one should take any risks... With my parents, I am more careful than ever as I don’t want to jeopardise their health. I am taking take it easy for a while, getting tested if we feel any symptoms, that’s all we can do. Hopefully, we can get vaccinated as soon as possible, which seems to be the only way out. My father is diabetic and was unwell recently, so we wanted him to recover completely before being vaccinated,”

We had such easy lives earlier. But now we have to think before hugging our parents.

he explains.

With the theatres are shut again and shoots stalled, Bollywood is facing a tough time right now. But Saleem remains optimistic. “I was telling someone the other day that we had such easy lives earlier. You could step out to eat, travel where you wanted, but now you have to think before hugging your parents. It’s a difficult time for the human race,” he muses, adding, “I feel this too will come to an end. As a society and community, we’ve to survive this wave. There’s going to be normalcy soon.” While waiting for the pandemic to end, the 33-year-old admits that he went a little easy and didn’t work out much. And now, his days are dedicated to getting back into shape. “I just bought a cycle, so I go cycling when I need to step out. I have got a gym in my house which is used often,” he concludes.
