Metal bars hammered on doors to keep Chinese residents locked in

Several videos have emerged on social media appearing to show Chinese officials locking residents inside their homes as the country battles a surge of the Delta variant of Covid-19.

The move was a repeat of the extreme tactics seen in Wuhan at the start of the pandemic in December 2019, Taiwan News reported.

Multiple videos surfaced on Weibo, Twitter, and Youtube from across China showing personnel in hazmat suits hammering iron bars over on the doors of homes to prevent anyone from leaving.
