Stubblety-cook sets breaststroke record ADELAIDE: Olympic champion Zac Stubbletycook set a world record in the men’s 200 metres breaststroke at the Australian swimming championships in Adelaide on Thursday. Stubbletycook clocked 2:05.95 to better Russian Anton Chupkov’s mark of 2:06.12 at the 2019 swimming world championships in Gwangju, South Korea. The 23-year-old also holds the Olympic record for the 200m breaststroke, which he set on way to winning the gold medal at the
Tokyo Olympics last year.
Indian women win WC recurve bronze GWANGJU: Indian women archers won a team bronze in the recurve section to take their medals tally to three at the World Cup Stage 2 here on Thursday. On a day when Indian men made a quarter-final exit, the young trio of Ridhi Phor, Komalika Bari and Ankita Bhakat defeated Chinese Taipei 6-2 (56-52, 54-51, 54-55, 55-54) in a bronze medal playoff tie.
