Praggnanandhaa loses to Liren in final
NEW DELHI: Grandmaster (GM) R Praggnanandhaa lost the final of Chessable Masters—an online rapid event that is part of the Champions Chess Tour—to Ding Liren on Thursday night but not before stretching the world No 2 to a tiebreaker. While Praggnanandhaa lost the first of two matches against Liren on Wednesday night, he bounced back by notching up a 2.5-1.5 victory in the second match. Liren won the tiebreaker in the blitz format.
Saha ‘not willing to play’ Ranji knockouts KOLKATA: Wriddhiman Saha will not play for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Jharkhand in Bangalore, starting June 6. According to a press release sent on Thursday night, Saha has communicated the same to Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya. Earlier, Saha had pulled out of the league stage too.
