NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: Amid a deepening political crisis in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday alleged a third attempt was being made to pull down the government but expressed confidence that chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will resolve the “internal matter” of the Shiv Sena.

Pawar, who played a crucial role in the formation of the MVA government, said it will complete its full five-year term. “There are no differences in the alliance and all have full confidence in the leadership of Thackeray,” he said.

“This is not an internal issue of the NCP. It is an internal issue of Shiv Sena, they will inform us after assessing the situation,” he added.

Pawar alleged that a third attempt was being made to pull down the MVA government.

“What happened in Maharashtra, in the past two and twoand-a-half years, this is the third incident. I remember when the

Uddhav Thackeray government was being formed, some of our MLAS were kept in Haryana. But later, they came out of there and returned, forming the government,” he said.

State BJP president Chandrakant Patil said his party has got nothing to do with political developments in the Sena.

“It is the Shiv Sena’s internal matter. We are not aware why Shinde went to Surat with his party colleagues. We have nothing to do with his move,” he told news agency PTI.

“If the BJP receives any proposal from Eknath Shinde to form the government, we would definitely consider it seriously. After all, we all have worked together in the past, hence it is much better to work and run a government with them,” he added.
