VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the country witnessed a dark era before 2014 with an atmosphere of distrust, a long series of scams, anarchy, Naxalism and extremism but a new India had emerged now where there was economic prosperity.

Security is guaranteed here and culture is being promoted now, Yogi Adityanath said at a public meeting at Rampur Machiya I in Chandauli district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 78 development projects worth ₹743 crore on the occasion.

“In the third term of Prime Minister Modi, the country is going to become the third largest (economic) power, there is no doubt about it,” Yogi Adityanath said.

Chandauli will no longer be an aspirational (backward) district but a developed one.

Attacking previous governments, he said that Chandauli district was formed in 1997, but even after decades, neither police lines nor residential and non-residential buildings were provided in the tehsil.

“Today, the foundation stone for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings is being laid in Police Lines.”

“Now, Chandauli will have its own police lines. Apart from this, residential and non-residential buildings of Naugarh tehsil are also being inaugurated,” he said.

“Big infrastructure works are being implemented here,” he said, adding that Chandauli will become a big centre of industry.

Funds ready for district court

Yogi said funds are ready for the district court in Chandauli. The construction work will start as soon as permission is received from the High Court, he added.

The double engine government was committed to respecting the livelihood of the youngsters and the faith of the people, the chief minister said.

It is the result of the strength of the government that a medical college is ready in Chandauli.

He said that no one earlier thought that a medical college would ever be built in Chandauli too.

“Today, it is ready and it will benefit not only the people of Chandauli but even Bihar. Respecting the faith and heritage, the medical college of Chandauli has been named after Baba Keenaramji. Through his spiritual practice and accomplishment, he paved the way for the public welfare without discrimination. Chandauli is blessed by nature and God. Chandauli is a big food grain producer of the state,” he said.

Appeal to vote for BJP candidate

The chief minister appealed to the people who came to the public meeting to vote for Union minister Mahendra Nath Pandey, the BJP candidate from Chandauli.

Mahendra Nath Pandey has been a student leader of BHU, who struggled, but never compromised with his values and ideals, he said.

Whatever is happening in Chandauli today, is happening because of the team work of the respected public representatives and the government, he added.

Yogi Adityanath presented symbolic cheques and certificates to beneficiaries of various schemes.

Besides Mahendra Nath Pandey, Uttar Pradesh minister Anil Rajbhar, minister in-charge Sanjeev Kumar Gaur, Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh, Sadhana Singh, MLA Sushil Singh, Ramesh Jaiswal, Kailash Acharya, the party’s district president Kashi Nath Singh and BJP office bearers were present.

CM unveils Maharana Pratap statue, gifts Rs 899 crore projects to

Jaunpur

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday unveiled the statue of Maharana Pratap in Jaunpur and gifted 256 projects worth Rs 899 crore to the district related to roads, drinking water and overall development.

He provided keys, cheques, tablets and laptops etc. to the beneficiaries of various schemes.

Addressing a public meeting, Yogi Adityanath said, “We should have only one resolution for 2024 and that is the Modi government.”

He paid tribute to Maharana as a great hero who broke the chains of slavery.

Even today, after hundreds of years, when it comes to bravery, every Indian has respect for Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh and Rani Laxmibai, he said.

The statue of Maharana Pratap is also a symbol of selfrespect, which is providing inspiration to follow the path of nationalism, he added.

Attacking the opposition, the chief minister asked the people that if there had been no double engine government at the Centre and the state, would the Ram temple and Kashi Vishwanath Dham been built?

Without naming opposition, Yogi said, Earlier, people were lathicharged for raising the slogan Jai Shri Ram, now the world is coming to visit Ayodhya Dham.

“These people had put a ban on Jalabhishek. In India, riots were organised before festivals. The present government encourages celebrating the festival peacefully and makes strict security arrangements,” he said.

“The government does not allow anyone to play with security. Those who do this will have to pay the price,” he added.

A distant dream once, a medical college has become a reality in Jaunpur now, he added.

Owing to better security environment, Jaunpur is attracting Rs 3300 crore investment and STP is being installed.

Four-lane ring road is also being built, Yogi said.

GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday described the youth as the working capital of nation-building.

He was addressing a gathering after performing bhoomi poojan and laying the foundation stone of the National Cadet Corps Academic Institute at Tal Kandala near Siktoor in Gorakhpur district. NCC plays a vital role in disciplining youth and discipline is essential for achieving success in each field of life, he said.

The first training academy of NCC Group Headquarters, Gorakhpur, will be constructed on 10-acre land at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crore.

“NCC, formed by an Act of Parliament in 1948, is the largest uniformed organization in the world to inspire youth for unity and discipline,” he said.

He urged the youth to carry forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision in mission mode. He expressed hope that the NCC training academy in Gorakhpur would serve as the hub of fostering unity and discipline.

Establishment of the academy in Gorakhpur holds immense significance for eastern Uttar Pradesh as 11 districts fall under it, he said.

He also said true fulfilment lies in serving the nation, rather than self-interest.

Directing to complete the construction work of the NCC Training Academy within the specified time frame, he urged the authorities to make the premises lush green through extensive tree plantation.

Cadets should be actively involved in a cleanliness campaign once every week, he said, adding that this will not only prevent diseases, but also enhance their sense of belonging to the soil. The academy will feature administrative buildings, a boys’ hostel with a capacity of 150 students, a girls’ hostel with a capacity of 100 students, a dining hall, toilet blocks, , an outdoor multi-activity area and an outdoor shooting range.
